Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is still a fan favorite and one of the titles most anticipated to make a return, next to 2005’s Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3. However, since 2007, the Dragon Ball Z video game community has especially been hoping to get a sequel or remaster of one title: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. With how strong FighterZ has been going (since 2017, no less), a sequel seems unlikely anytime soon. Many are hoping for a Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 with even more customization and unique alternate storylines, or a Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot 2, which would likely follow the events of Dragon Ball Super. In June, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot received Warrior of Hope - likely its last DLC. While new content is great for keeping players interested, many fans will always be looking out for the next big entry in the series, especially in regards to how it will incorporate the best parts of the current games. FighterZ received the SSJ4 Gogeta DLC in March and will be getting another update in August, which could also bring a fourth season pass. As far as current game updates go, Xenoverse 2 received new DLC in March 2021 and has another DLC coming in December. Unfortunately, nothing new has been confirmed at the time of writing. However, fans of the series are likely already seeking the next Dragon Ball Z game. These three games are still supported and have dedicated player bases. Prior to the 2015 release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, DBZ games had fallen short of fan expectations, with disappointing titles like Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi and Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. But following Xenoverse, DBZ games took off once again, giving fans Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dragon Ball: FighterZ, and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
