These files are the 3 big ones with the actual instrument samples in:Ģ) You need to authorise this installation of GPO version 1 with Native Instruments. Or maybe the installer does this for you? Its been a couple of years so I can't remember. It is a while since I installed the actual library because I keep it on that external disk, but I think there are 3 main data files you have to drag and drop from the CDs (or DVD) to the final chosen library location (the "GPO Library" folder) after the installer completes. (You may not care about this, but I normally have my library on an external USB2 HFS+ drive under a folder in which I keep all my Kontakt-based sample libraries, so it helps me organise things if I know in advance that its going to create that extra folder.) IF the installer asks you to enter a location in which to install the library, then bear in mind that whatever name you give it, the installer will automatically create a folder BELOW that one called "GPO Library". It may not ask you at this stage, it might be something you enter in the Service Centre later. IF the installer asks you for your serial number, then the one you need to enter is the original one which was supplied with GPO.
Personally I use the "Custom Install" option, ticking all the option boxes except for the plugin options (VST, AU, RTAS etc) because I will never be running this PPC version of GPO inside a DAW on my intel Mac. You can probably go for the default simple installation options here, because that way you get the whole product installed including the library structure. You will not need the 1.1.8.3 update to GPO because GPO version 2 supercedes this.ġ) Install GPO from CD1 of the original CD set. What you will NOT need for installing GPO version 1 Ii) The serial number for your original copy of GPO version 1, which came in the box. I) An account on the Native Instruments web site, to allow you to authorise GPO. What you will need in advance of installing GPO version 1: NI's terminology has changed over the years! Where I use the word "authorised" I might mean "activated". What I mean is putting a tick or cross in a little square box in a dialog to select an option I'm English you see. Where I use the word "ticked" you may understand this better as "checked" according to your nationality. You have to install both products, there is NO workaround which lets you install just version 2! They relate to installing the original Power-PC (PPC) version of GPO version 1 (which used the light grey Kontakt Player interface) from the 4 supplied CDs (or single DVD) onto an Intel Mac, then updating to the latest Universal Binary version of GPO version 2 (which uses the black Kontakt Player 2 interface). The following instructions are ones I have written from experience gained from multiple attempts at installing Garritan Personal Orchestra (GPO).
